Hunter At Sunrise Radio celebrates 15 years in 2024
Yes, Hunter At Sunrise has been broadcasting on AltRadio since February 2009. To celebrate, we thought we would revisit some of the many live acoustic session performances we have had over the years. Starting February 4th, we'll be sprinkling songs from the sessions into our regular mix. You'll hear artists like David Wilcox, Sarah Jarosz, Chris Smither, Allison Russell & Birds of Chicago, Glen Phillips, Aoife O'Donovan, Sam Baker, the Secret Sisters just to name a few. Plus we'll be playing a number of local and regional artists. It's been quite a journey and we wish to thank all of our listeners who have been along for the ride. Cheers!

Hunter at Sunrise: Our Music is a Voyage
Hunter At Sunrise can be heard every Sunday morning from 7-11am eastern on this site. We broadcast from the studios of 89.5 WHRV FM in Norfolk, Va. Just click the player to listen. We here at Hunter At Sunrise believe that there is still great new music out there...that the spirit of discovery still exists especially on Sunday mornings. We believe that the majority of music these days is mired in the sounds of the past or caught in the repetition of new pop music that is performer and personality driven. Hunter At Sunrise is about the flow of morning music and not the angst of every day current events. It is a haven from the humdrum of the work-a-day week, a soundtrack for relaxing on a Sunday morning. We draw our playlist from the obscure past and the futuristic artists trying to stretch the boundaries of modern songwriting. We believe in Hampton Roads and the local music scene. We want to present live fresh music and have it last. Thanks so much for listening.
